Why Book a Pre Wedding Shoot?

Pre-wedding shoots are a great way to get used to being in front of the camera before your wedding. I think it’s really good practise for the day itself and a great way to know your photographer and see how they work. This is something I encourage couples to have when booking me. This is actually included in some of my packages or can be added. Have a look here.

Pre wedding shoots are also a great opportunity to ask your photographer any questions that you may have, things that you like and dislike. It’s important that you get on with your photographer and understand each other.

Choose a Meaningful Place

Andrea & John booked me for their wedding next year at the beautiful Carnoustie Golf Hotel, but Edinburgh has a special place in their hearts as that’s where they got engaged! John proposed to Andrea on Calton Hill, Edinburgh on a beautiful day overlooking the city and Arthur’s seat.

Relax and Enjoy the Day

As an Edinburgh wedding photographer, I always tell my couples to be themselves on the day. I want to tell of the story of their true selves and not to worry about the camera too much. I try to keep things as natural as possible. One of my favourite types of photos to take is having the couple walking together hand in hand and to forget about the camera. These are some of my favourite pre wedding photos to take and you will often see photos like this in my portfolio and in your gallery.
